Hi,
After one day working, I uninstalled MPaD, and I realoded it.
Now I can't find again the right way to configure the bdp-2 as server.

I'm using : CONNECTION
                 Name                      :  (nothing)
                 Connection mode     :  Remote

                 MPD
                 Server                     :  bryston
                 Port                         :  6600
                 Password                 :  bryston
                 Use LocalCache        :  yes

                 LOCAL COVER ART
                 URL                         : (nothing)
                 Cover File Name       :  Folder.jpg
                 Liner Notes Filename : (nothing)

Thank's in advance, I'm not absolutely expert.

james

also without the Password it does not connect. I don't understand.
I tried to turn off both bdp-2 and ipad, to closed again MPaD and reload it, and then try again. no more connection.

Ok I see the problem

Leave the password off and the SERVER is NOT 'BRYSTON' - use the IP Address (prefered)  that is shown on the front display of the BDP or use     bryston-bdp-1.local

finally done with IPaddress instead "bryston".

but I think to have some problems, i.e. I find my files, some listed by their tags, other by their folder  name.
and also it does not show me the bitrate.

now I try with bryston-bdp-2.local

thanks, dino

Hi

How MPAD reads the data will be a function of how it was implemented when transferred to the hard-drive (what program are you using?)

I ripped all my cds with EAC as flac with win, and then I used xld to obtain AIFF, because before the bdp I used itunes.
I tranfered my aiff files on the ssd inside the btp on the network, all in the same way.
some are listed by tag, some by folder (artist), some with the cover, some not, also if any foder there is the cover inside like Folder.jpg.

OK - I will ask others to respond as I use a PC and Flac files using DBPOWERAMP.

Is this on a Mac or Windows machine? No luck here on my Mac.

Found a work around for my issue... may help somebody else here....

from: http://code.google.com/p/musicpm/issues/detail?id=125

"As a workaround, it's possible to set the mpd server through the Firefox about:config page. Look for the value 'extensions.mpm.server'. If it does not exist, create a new one (right click -> string), with a value '192.168.1.2:6600:', where '192.168.1.2' is the ipadres of YOUR mpd server."

I use PC and MediaMonkey Gold to rip or organize downloaded music files and tag files to FLAC. Control BDP-1 with MPaD. Use genre to identify HiRes files (192, 176.4, 96, 88.2, 48 kHz). I use DVD Audio Extractor to rip BlueRay audio (i.e, concert videos) to FLAC then import into MediaMonkey for tagging. By the way, MPaD is real quick on the new iPad Air.

Yes, and on the iphone i feel it is definitely a set back... too bad my updates download automatically in the background....

Can't you see the full album art, like before, with the resolution and format, either? Really miss that, and no feedback is shown anymore while updating the database.

Ive two BDP's showing: one as BDP, and one as bryston-bdp-1.local. Is that a new MPOD software issue, or something to do with the Bryston beta firmware i've installed? Please have a look in your situation.

Cheers,
Marius

I did a little reading in here, but still somewhat confused so will just ask.  I'm thinking of buying a BDP-1 and want to control it with my Macbook.  What's best to use?  It seems MPad doesn't work on a Macbook, right?

The BDP's can be controlled via any web browser. There is a "Max" and "Min" interface, as well as the settings. These interfaces are programmed within the BPD and do not require any additional software (save the aforementioned web browser).
