It certainly is  :thumb: They wrote Stereophile on the cover in a green color to match the display color of the player, I thought it was a really cool touch.

Larry Greenhill’s current review of the BCD-1 is interesting from the point of view that in writing it he seems to stay away from the  ohh’s and ahh’s much akin to how I’ve always perceived Bryston’s equipment and appears to give it a thumbs up on all aspects, build quality and music reproduction.

He concludes “the BCD-1 player connects me to those crucial elements of music: pace, rhythm and emotion.
It’s so good that I no longer miss the KPS-28c and that’s a strong recommendation indeed.”

Overall I felt it was a positive and fair assessment of the BCD-1.

Good Stuff!

In my idling day off I just happened to notice that this thread has accumulated over 30000 views, way more than any other thread here, not bad in this day and age where many question the validity of a company manufacturing a stand alone CD player. Maybe it's just out of curiosity but it looks like Brytons BCD-1 has garnered a lot of interest  one way or another.
Also, in thinking about Stereophile's Feb issue with the BCD-1 on the cover I was trying to remember what other Bryston's made it to the front cover of other magazines over the years.

Hello,
the long waiting review in Stereophile is fact.
I`m not technically involved in the matters of constructing audio equipment,
the the presented graphs show that BCD-1 is an outstanding piece of equipment.
I hope soon will be available in Bryston web page to download it.

CUSTOMER FEEDBACK:

Subject: BCD-1

Good morning James,

Friday, I received my Bryston BCD-1 that I ordered with Son Idéal in Montreal. I was looking for a CD player as my Linn Genki was starting to show signs of health problems....

I was looking for a CD player in the 2000$. I auditionned the Cambridge Audio 840C, the Shanling CDT-1000 SE, the Exposure 3010S, the Nad Master Series M5, but none of them came close to the sound that I heard with the Bryston.

Yes it is a little more then I expected to pay, but it's worth every single penny. It's like I re-discover my entire CD collection and it looks like I would just listen to music all day. But gotta work and pay the bills.

Thank you very much James and have a nice day.

Jacques

Well, I didnt buy the magazine actually, was just browsing in the store. The conclusion was "better late than never, definetely worth waiting for".
I can see if the magazine is still available...

The same thing happened on my MAC.  I haven't tried yet with one of my PCs but I'll be updating virus protection on them probably tomorrow.

Unfortunately it can't be viewed with Preview on the Mac, because it's wrapped in some funky DRM that communicates with a server somewhere. You have to download Acrobat for the Mac to read it, and you can't print it.
