Is SMPS600 plug'n play for 240VAC/50 Hz?

Absolutely no mention of Hz in OEM manual for SMPS600.

I'm reminded of an ex-co-worker who mused about thermos function, saying, "You put the cold in and it stays cold, you put the hot in and it stays hot...How do it know?"

The SMPS600 Data Sheet does mention 230VAC/50Hz in the output power chart.

Cool, thanks!  I missed that.  Still, you'd think this should appear with mains supply specs.

Do you suppose this means so-called "plug-n play?"  Such is the case for the SMPS with our guitar/violin family seasoning device, but not sure with Bruno's much costlier rig.

I would think so, as neither document mentions any switch header connections or jumpers to select input voltage.  ( ? )

I thought Europe was 60 Hz, but DIY members said it's 50 Hz, so apparently no reason for concern.

The PS is setup to sense the type of current it is receiving and put itself into the proper mode. So yes, it is plug and play. This is mentioned somewhere in the documentation, I don't remember where. Look and you will find it.

One month ago I received from Hypex two SMPS600, manual is now only four pages and that info is not on it.

The plot thickens.  There isn't any 63Hz mains grid that I know of.

JohnR, these NC400 mono blocs ship to Australia.  Any comments appreciated.

Owner replaces two 92# each McIntosh MC501 mono bloc behemoths with tiny NC400 5# ea!

Yes, I know.  Kits received new last month include only about half the information of the kits received in 2011.  Progress?  Also the audio input coax is different and um, well, drop me a note on that if curious.  At least parts arrive in Utah within seven calendar days after order, both March and June this year vs. months back order early-mid 2011.

********

That's just the design range.  47 to 63 Hz.

duh! Sorry!   :duh:  I missed the minimum spec!  OK, just delete this whole thread maybe.  In my defense, it's more intuitive to place min next to maximum.  And this info is missing from the power supply box!
