System Overview

This is my system I've been working on since I started at age 12 in Philly. Now located in Southport, NC, it's been a 40 year quest to improve and enjoy with my wife and family. We use it every day for many hours. It's about the music for us. Mostly rock,jazz,and blues with some classical and new age for some spice.

Music Preferences

Classic Rock(Eagles, Stevie Ray, Jimi, Doobies, Petty, Steely Dan) Jazz(Miles, Grusin, Corea, Shull, Schur) Classical(A smidgen...) New Age(Mannheim Steamroller, Tangerine Dream) I know, I know, is his brain toast or what. If it's music, I'm game to listen other than hip-hop

Room Description

12X17X8. Now located in the dedicated Hawk's Nest man cave in North Carolina.

Acoustic Treatment

Commercial room tuning material on all 4 walls now. Bass panels, diffusers, and tubes in the corners.

Listening Impressions

It's only Rock N' Roll, but I liiiiiiiiiikkkkkkkkkke it.... It's all about the music for the Rootman and his wife. We just listen, listen, listen for hours on end and when I feel like it I tweak a little bit.

Dell 530 Quad Core 6600 PC driving my SB3/Touchs. 8TB NAS. All CD's(1900) in MP4 format encoded using DBPowerAmp software with error correction on.

Other Comments

It's not perfect, but it's ours and we enjoy it. You can listen, or you can mess with hardware/equipment changes is the way I feel about it. We spend 99% of our time listening, drinking fine wine and beer and enjoying ourselves with our friends rather than messing with hardware.....Life's too short.
