Hey Mike, lots of nice posts there man. Well, my aged ears aren't what they once were, but I haven't had any complaints so far. I can't say they are "it's like you were there" re-masters, but I've got 11 so far, and just ordered 4 more. I'd say they are on the whole very good, but probably not the best possible. Actually I have some dupes between what I've bought as individual releases, and the sets. Haven't taken time so far to sit down and do side by side on those few, but so far no klinkers anyway. It's tough to beat the price, and even trying to find decent used vinyl or CDs would be far pricier, and probably less rewarding overall. They definitely skipped most of the literature, with simply noting the album name, and artist/instrument, tracks/length. So if you want all the info on the original release that's missing, but then we can track that any number of places. It's also worth noting that Freedb has them in their database, so tagging the file for ripping is easy.

I got into them as a way to check out members of some of the groups that play with artists I'm familiar with. Well know in their own right, but I just hadn't looked into their individual work. So much music out there, so little time & funds. I don't think you'd be disappointed, but then everyone's ears are different.

Happy Listening........

Hi JD,

They're very tempting.  I bought one of the 3 albums plus deals and thought the sound quality was ok but not remaster quality.  I may try another one just to increase my sample size before I pass judgement.

Thanks,

Mike
