The great John Coltrane. I have also listened to Eric Dolphy, Blossom Dearie, George Benson and Show Biz Kids by Ricki Lee Jones today.

Got this rec from S. Clark.  Tore it open at the mailbox and slipped it into my car's CDP.  It's very good!  I'll recommend it to you.  Thanks, Clark:

Glad you liked it (but I knew you would).  That cd has great dynamics.  The Manhattan Jazz Quintet are seemingly unheard of.. except in Japan where they have a big following.  But with Steve Gadd, Eddie Gomez, and David Matthews it's hard to miss.  Most haven't followed Lew Soloff since his Blood Sweat and Tears days, but he is a very solid bebop soloist.  Just picked up another of their cd's-  Manhattan Jazz Quintet "The Sidewinder".  It's another good one.

Guess MJQ will have to go on the shopping list.

Is this their re-expression of the Lee Morgan album by the same title?  I'd like to hear that.

That's a Lee Morgan tune.  Could that one be f-u-n-k-y?
