Iam having a problem with my bcd-1. This is the second machine, what happens is that when you push the next track button on the remote, it sometimes doesnt display the next track but it comes up with a software  error consisting of numbers and letters, then if you push the button again it works right. anybody hear of this problem. I also have pics of problem...

Kind of suspicious that you've had the problem with 2 units.

I assume it only happens with the remote, and not from the front panel?

Could there be some source of interference (plasma TV, weird light source, etc.)  that is somehow corrupting the IR code?

no to steves answer, if i push the button on the panel of the player for next track i can eventually duplicate the prob. Also prob seems to happen when your more than a minute into track then you switch to next track and then prob comes up. My thinking is it has something to do with the two second delay for the next track, Maybe a software issue. Player is not near any tv source

Are you using an original CD?

I guess the error codes would help too........

Hi passlabs,

Engineering can not make it happen here and have asked if I can get your unit to Bryston with one of the CD's that does this- is that possible?

James i just got this cd player from dedicated audio. Second unit after first one had same symptoms. I would rather not like to send it in. As far as problem goes it occurs like i said in the original statement, and it doesnt matter what cd i put in player from my collection. I guess i will live with it till complete failure, or hope it fix's itself. Thanks for your speedy reply....

James, At one time back in Dec 2008 I had the same Problem.
But it only happened Once.
Turned off the BCD-1
When the software reloaded in the BCD-1, everything went back to Normal.

James, I just Remembered our conversation back then.
You had said Probably there was a Spike in the Hydro, to turn off the BCD-1 and let the software relaod.
I did and every thing was Perfect !

Ps I was not using the Remote.
I was using the Front Panel of the BCD-1

I saw your error code posted.  If I didn't know better, I'd think it was cursing at you!

What did you do to anger it so?

(I'd been watching for your reply to James. I was really hoping that would fix it, like it did for Robert D.)

Thanks steve but no dice. But i think i figured it out for james. Here it is. I like to use the forward button alot to get through certain parts of a song. And when i use this button and then use the next track button this is when the problem occurs, not all the time but it does happen. I discovered this by not using the forward button, then the prob went away. Something with those two buttons used in tandem.

Hey passlabs - great detective work - thanks I will pass this along to engineering.
