Looks like Danny's LS6 and LS9 designs are close to fruition.

http://www.av123forum.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=13900

Maybe Danny wouldn't mind giving us a lowdown...

The low down is simply this.

I will be offering the LS-6 and LS-9 line sources as kits.

Mark will be offering them fully assembled and ready to play.

And yes he is going to introduce them at a ridiculously low price. You better have your money ready.

The new custom Neo's are in production. The new 6.5" woofers with XBL^ motor structures are in production, and Mark is working on enclosures.

The thing that may still take the longest is the woofers. I don't have a production completion date yet but it won't be long. Then there is the 3 week trip across the ocean...

I'll let you guys know more as I do.

Looks pretty darn cool!

Only issue is finding a place for a speaker that is 6' 8" tall!

Thanks for the update, Danny.  The speakers look great--really excited about hearing them in the near future.

As an aside, how would you compare the sound of the LS series with the open baffles now that the LS have been completed?

Thanks and congrats.

Any idea on the pricing of the kits?  Just shy of $4k and $3K for the LS-9 and LS-6, respectively, is a little out of my audio budget right now, especially since those prices will go up after the first 25.  But kit prices may make it past my better half's radar.

Thanks,
Michael .......hoping for some rediculously low kit prices.  :D

I am doing my best to keep it low. Whatever the parts retail for will be the cost of the kits. It looks like the LS-6 will be in the $1,600. to $1,699. range and the LS-9 will be in the $2,200. to $2,299. range.

The intro finished price is mind blowing.
After working on this RA8 kit the price of good cabinets has a new relativity.

Hi Folks, these speakers look fascinating. I don't know much about line-source speakers though. Don't want to waste anyone's time, so is there a pointer to a good already-written description of such speakers? Thanks.

Ahh yes... those beauties are Danny's old Alpha LS line arrays.  I built a set a couple years ago.  They truly are fantastic speakers and I'm very happy with them.  As always Danny's service has been first rate.  I can only imagine what these new line arrays will sound like!

I believe these incorporate the new driver that Al at Raw has been waiting for. If so this is similiar but yet new.
I wonder what xo tweaks the new driver required.

Actually the ones Al is waiting for are the new M-130 woofers that will use the XBL^ motor. These will not replace the standard M-130 woofers but will be a new version that we will carry.

No Bill you are a little mixed up there
The new driver I am waiting for the project I told you about is my own driver not a GR driver.Shown on my forum. This driver I have coming is not even close to the M-130.
Well our new driver has 12.5mm of Xmax.

Danny and I have a few things on the go and to say the least they will be a new product.
No shock here.RAV1  and a RAV3.Which had a press release from Danny long ago. And yes I am waiting 100% for the XBL^2  M-130 before I go ahead with these designs.
Yes using our ribbon. 8)

Yes Bill Danny and Mark have a good product for a turn key
Just remember your RA8 is not a line it is a large WWWMTMWWW and hasa few pros over a line array.

But really $3999.00 incuding MLS cabinets for the new ones from Mark and Danny

The RA8 is really a large MTM with a lot of spl.
95 db to be exact.
Which has a lot less dispersion issues than a line array does   :hyper:

And that is  big difference with a few other issues.Very simplified crossover on the RA8 .
