Title: Perry Marshall OB "Live Edge" speakers
Post by: kd4ylq on 22 Sep 2022, 07:46 pm
Anyone here built his OB Live edge speakers? I'm getting together all the parts to build my first pair of Perry Marshall's smaller OB "Live Edge" speakers. I need & want to use speaker grills such as his, but he had his rings custom CNC made. Has anyone found commercially available grills to fit the 15" woofers? (i.e. Lavoce WAN 153.00)? or the SB Acoustics Satori TW 29BNWG-4 beryllium dome tweeter w/ waveguide? I hope to hear that I'm not the only one going down this road (especially with the MiniDSP 2x4HD to setup and optimize). Thanks!

No, but I added his page to the list of documented projects (https://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=149608.msg1599892#msg1599892) :)

I've found the live edge (butternut) slabs I want to use for the speakers and will accumulate the drivers over the coming months. I would like to use passive crossovers first so that I can evaluate for myself how much of a difference in sound is the result of DSP magic. Can anybody help me out with a passive crossover design? And yes, I know it will cost more to implement than the DSP.
