Cabinets for ellis 1801
« on: 4 Apr 2006, 03:23 pm »
Hello

I am new to this hobby and was looking to put together a pair of 1801 speakers. However I live in New york and don't have space in my apartment to make a pair of cabinets.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good cabinet maker up to around $400.

PS: If anyone in the NYC area has a pair of Ellis 1801 and would be willing to audition them, i'd love to hear them.

I've been listening to music on my computer speakers for the last 4 years.  Hopefully a pair of 1801's should be a significant upgrade!

See link. This guy does very nice work at downright cheap prices! The Cygnets shown in his gallery page are mine. The woodwork is first rate.

Thanks Merle!

I was looking for this gents web page a couple months ago and couldn't find it!

I do recall the customer being very pleased.

John Bateman is a nice dude.  He did a really good job on my Modula MTM cabinets.  And he is very very reasonable (does it as a hobby).
