Tropical Storm Elsa
« on: 6 Jul 2021, 03:16 pm »
So far Elsa is proving to be a very mild tropical storm for us on the West coast of Florida. It's a rainy overcast day here with little or no wind so far. Things may pick up over the next 24 hours as she passes by offshore going North but no cause for concerns here.

Cheers,

That's good to hear, Morten. You got hit pretty hard a few years back.

We got close to 7 inches of rain in one day here from Elsa but otherwise winds were modest. It rained long and hard enough that my yard, my neighbors yard and the street between us became one continuous lake. Fortunately  we are less than 100 yards from the gulf coast waters so nothing stays flooded here very long provided there's no big coastal surge. An 8-10 foot surge would likely be a disaster for this coastal area of Southwest Florida.

I just realized we’re neighbors. I live off Beach Pkwy on SW 22nd Court. Small world.
