Best bowl game by far that I've seen.

Too bad the committee didn't put Penn St in the top 4. I think they had a chance to make some noise, unlike what Ohio St showed the other night.

Congrats to the Trojans. They were the better team tonight against my Lions

PSU fan like myself were just hoping for a winning season  and look where we wound up.
The freaking Rose Bowl :thumb:

With that aside, fingers seem to be pointing at Coach Franklin for playing to conservative in the last 5 minutes. He played not to loose....and he lost. :duh:

Anyway, thanks for a great season. Next year should be a doozy!

WE ARE!

I was rootin' for your side, Emil.  I think you're right about playing not to lose.  I saw that same thing in games the last couple of years with my sad sack team.  (Soon to change for the MUCH better!  GO DUCKS!)  Sorry for the loss, but what a great game.   :thumb:

I'm not much into college football but I caught the entire second half while I was out to dinner.  The place my brother wanted to go had the game on all their TVs.   What a comeback win!

I've been a life-long Trojan fan (see post above) but one reason is that USC has always been blessed with coaches and AD's who insisted on matching their team against the very best in the nation, win or lose. That has often included Penn State. You would be hard pressed to find a Trojan fan who doesn't respect and admire the Penn State program - especially from the Joe Paterno days - and who isn't pleased to see them come back with with a terrific coach and a talented quarterback. The comeback is poignant since USC has just now overcome severe set backs and Penn State has clearly moved beyond a scandal that was no fault of anyone who was on the field on Rose Bowl day. I'm sure Penn State can't wait for a rematch and, speaking for a lot of fellow Trojans, neither can I. This is what college football is all about.

"Severe set backs."  Is that what you call being penalized for being a corrupt, big-time cheating program? The same can be said for PSU.

I didn't see that last pass play by Penn State as playing to lose.  I make a lot of money being a Wednesday morning QB, and from my perspective, that deep pass play was reckless.  Three things can happen on a pass - two of them bad.  You have the game tied, not much time left.  I think you play for OT.  USC, who is basically playing at home, has the momentum.  Going into OT gives the PSU players a chance to settle down a bit.

I cant speak of what happened at USC but I've been following the  PSU scandal for a while.
Do I believe there was a cover-up? Nah. At most they are guilty of mishandling the situation badly.

I eagerly await the trials of Senior Vice President Gary Schultz and Athletic Director Tim Curley who were charged back in 2011. That's correct, over 5 years ago and still no trial. Why?  Many of the charges have already been dropped. My guess is that the prosecution has nothing.
Sandusky is the only one incarcerated as he should be. No charges were filed against Paterno.

I do hope for a trial so we can get to the bottom of this as much as anyone else.

  Hi Guys:

I'm a college football fan and was looking forward to the playoff and bowl games last Saturday.
I quit watching them after an hour or so. You ask "Why"?  Too many COMMERCIALS!!!
5 minutes of foot ball and 10 minutes of commercials!!!

Man, they're all epic fails.  Each one sucks in their own special way, but the Browns sucked for a whole season.  Good find.   :thumb:

USC's quarterback Sam Darnold looked pro ready.
