Anyone around heard Vinnie's battery-powered TEAC A-L700P aka the Lucidi-T?

I fear the mounting temptation...

Gulp.

John

I hope to hear it soon. I've sent my TEAC to Vinnie for the battery PS mod, a couple of days ago.

Hi Guy!

I received your Teac before I left out to visit family (I am currently in a hotel in Toronto  :) )  I have all the parts ready and will try my best to have it finished and sent out before I leave for the Montreal show on Friday.

Guy will be the first battery Teac customer  8)  I can't wait to hear his impressions of it!

All,

I just powered up Guy's battery modded Teac this afternoon and it is SLAMMIN'!  8)   Absolutely superb speed and dynamics...with a WAY CLEANER top end.  It is like a Clari-T on roids    I need to do some detailed comparisons soon..

Guy, it's working like a champ!  I'll ship it out to you on Thursday.  I need tomorrow to do some final testing and listening.  I believe you are going to be one happy Guy when you get your hands back on this machine.  Biggest 30 watts you'll ever hear!  :guitar:

I'll take pictures soon and put them on my website...

Yeah, but can it blow women's clothes off?

Seriously, though, I have been trying every bit of AC conditioning voodoo  I can get my hands on (except a balanced power supply) and I still cannot get the bloody HF right in my TEACs.

Alas, Vinnie, I believe you are right.    :notworthy:

John,

This is, without a doubt in my mind, because of the switch mode power supply.  You can condition the AC power that goes into the Teac all you want, but it still will get chopped up (trashed, violated, whatever you want to call it   ) by the switching power supply.

Taking the input from the new RCAs directly to the amplifier board via Auricaps also helps with the high frequencies...
