Howdy Ian,

Nice system! How far back from the speakers are you?

Sincerely,
Mal

Why will removing the coffee table make a big difference?

Mal: - probably between 8-10 feet.  Speakers are at least 1m from the rear wall, sit far out in front of the equipment rack and have an approx 30 degree toe in angle.

You may get reflected mids and highs arriving just late enough to muddy the direct signal.

Timbo in Oz,

Welcome to AC.  Glad to have your expertise.  What is that state of HD radio down there and is it affecting FM broadcasts?

HD radio is virtually non existant in Australia, but with the rise and further rise of the new digital TV formats it's only a matter of time.  I already know ABC television broadcasts a digital standard definition radio only feed.
