I enjoy finding treasures from Craigslist, a few weeks back I saw an ad for "Kenwood Receiver & JBL's- $70"
I picked them up today...who says the dollar is weak!!

  JBL ND310II- Dual 10" woofers

  JBL Subwoofer PB10

  Kenwood Receiver VR-6050

I think I'm done because its getting hard to walk around in here.

Craigslist is great. Unfortunately for sellers it can be hell. I tried to sell some snow tires with rims. I figure they're worth about $3-400, I could only get $100 for them. :( Someone got a great deal and it wasn't me.

I think I sold those JBLs at Sears back in the day... They seem very familiar.

Purchased at Circuit City right next to "the thousand dollar speakers". Hey is it ok to put a downfiring sub elevated and on it's side instead of down firing? I'm too worn out to flip it all around and try each way is there an "av" rule or guideline on all things downfiring??

Don't do that Ed. The surround on a downfiring sub can't take the angle if firing sideways and will not act pistonically. I would suggest that you try turning it upfiring. It should tighten up (you may have to raise the volume a bit though). you could also try placing a quare board on the upturned feet with a weight of some sort on it to maintain the boundary.

Did this with my REL Strata III and liked it a lot more than when it fired down.

I decided to see what the "Kenwood VR-6050" sounded like so I gathered up all my other JBL's and started hooking them up. I was using a SONY STR DH800 for my 5.1 setup but that is now only used for video switching. The Kenwood smokes it, easily, this thing actually may have the 100watts X 5 it states on the label. Dialog is crisp and clear, the "Circle Surround Cinema" setting is great, very immersive so this unit is my new AV Receiver for Audio...so for my $70 investment I got pretty much an entire new system...not bad I'd say.
