I read the specs on these speakers and understand the components are different. Could folks that own these speakers comment on their subjective thoughts on sound quality?

Really hard to answer unless one has heard / compared them, which I have not. Recommend you speak directly with the man himself… Mr. Salk is a fountain of unbiased helpfulness. Better yet, if at all possible, visit his shop in Pontiac MI where the magic originates :thumb:
