A great man, on and off the field. One of my childhood idols (even though I was a pitcher ;)

Rest in peace, Mr. Aaron.

He is still the homerun king in my book and one of the top 5 players of all time.  A class act.

I agree with everyone's comments, such grace and dignity.  RIP Hank.

My Dad and I met him once at an event in Ft. Wayne, where he was the guest speaker talking to a bunch of middle school age kids. What a gracious, giving, and thoughtful human being he was that day, and very humble considering his many accomplishments on and off the field. I will never forget it. RIP Mr. Aaron, you were a great example.

I wholly agree.  I remember watching him on TV and always had deep respect and admiration.  He had an esoteric "Idol" quality few ball players can muster.
