Title: Hestia New build
Post by: bear-hifi on 23 Jan 2018, 01:38 pm

Really like the project and it has been fun. Thank you matevana!

I went with two MCM 15” woofers with a JBL amp crossover built in.  Peerless silk dome waveguide tweeter with (I think) 5uf cap and a L-pad.

I notice the mid can have a little shout at times. Was wondering about changing the mid to a Eminence Patriot Lil buddy?

You can try an 8 or 10 ohm resistor across the terminals of the MCM 10" driver. The Lil' Buddy driver sounds a bit darker, but the thick hemp cone tends to make the roll-off sound smooth. While it's fun to experiment, you can often save yourself some time and expense by using a good sim program upfront. It's helpful to think of the project as a system; one small change can affect everything. Enjoy!
