While at my favorite record shop I saw this NEC CD 610 CD player sitting there with a $10 price tag.
He told me it worked just fine. I offered him $5 "SOLD"

I was back at the same record store as the above NEC CD player and I found this.

Marantz PM-52U Integrated Amp. I'm told it's early 90's vintage.  :dunno:

Geez, I forgot I had this Sherwood. My friend is using it in another town. I can't recall the model number.

That looks like the 7900.  Very nice receiver with 60 very powerful wpc rms, a great tuner, and heavily built.  I had one for about 20 years.

My neighbor had those Advents back in the 70's. He also had those big green Koss headphones. When I heard those Advents and Koss headphones I was forever hooked.

Yes,

The Advents started me down the slippery slope too.  Them and a McIntosh 6100.  I also had Advents stacked for a while.

Advents - how many purchases ago were they for me?
Advents, old Marantz and Sherwood gear...
That stuff is hardly cutting edge but it always just sounded really good.  Let me rephrase that, it always does sound really good.

Polk SDA SRS 3.1 TL

Picked these up a couple of weeks ago and the new tweeters for them are back ordered till 10/22

P-man

This speaker takes me back to the late 80s, with all the Carver Magnetic amplification hoopla, along with their virtual sound circuitry, along with the SDA Polks that were huge and also taunted their virtual imagery....Let me not forget the huge Mirage M1s dipolar speakers.  All needed bear amps.....in the form of those Carvers and I still remember, Sumo Andromeda II and IIIs.  Those were the awesome days!  ADS stereo gear made in both Germany and Japan, awesome.
