I know that the integrated amp obviously has a built in preamp, but I was wondering about a comparison of just the amplifier for each. The 225i is rated as having more power, but the 225i seems to be the same (or almost the same) price as the 150 se. The 150 se will play in class a power, but i don't see where it specifies how much (vs 25 watts on the 225i). Can anyone shed some light on this comparison? Thank you

I can't speak to how the two compare but I do have the KWA 150SE and the first 30 watts are Class A (got this info from Dan).  I have it paired with an older Modwirhgt SWL 9.0SE that Dan upgraded all of the caps, tube line power stage and NOS tubes, that combination is magical!

Definitely ask Dan about it. He is very accessible. What really made the 225i for me was the choice of tubes in the preamp section. I ended up with Upscale Audio Telefunkens, which are crazy expensive to buy now, but I had them. The integrated is so good, I have no desire to go back to separates, which I'm sure could be a smidge better for the right person. Both are great choices though.
