I have a Yamaha mx-800u running a pair of Klipsch belles - I noticed today the amp was running at 2omh "load" setting.  The button must have been pushed by mistake some time ago.  I have been listening at low-medium volume.  Did I possibly damage either my speakers or amplifier with this mistake?  Everything sounds OK and nothing overheated but I only noticed it when the right channel/speaker failed to produce sound when I turned it on this morning.  After checking everything and restarting, it worked fine again but I want to understand the implications of the error.  Thanks in advance.

It's just a switch for the meters, if the meters still work fine the amplifier is fine and it certainly won't harm any speaker.

The owner manual say anything?

Yes the OM says if the switch is not in the correct position the power meters will be even less accurate than they are in the correct position.
Paraphrased of course.

THANK YOU. Yes I actually managed to find the manual in my Dad's stuff.  The "load selectors" adjust the peak power DISPLAY (not output) fhew. Thanks.
