Audivarna —> BDP

I Run a ROON core on a SGC Sonic Transport.  The new version of Audivarna will now execute on the Transport and has DLNA  capabilty.  How would you set up BDP/MM to be an Audiverna endpoint? Just activate DLNA renderer or DLNA client in the Services section of MM?  Anybody use a BDP as a DLNA client/renderer?

Downloaded a trial of Ardirvarna, went to MM/services and started DLNA. Ardirvarna saw the BDP strait away.  Logged in through the app to Qobuz and its playing.   Be testing the SQ over the next few days.

I just did this with JPLAY (iPhone app) and it works great (superb interface) but the BDP reverts to MPD mode when you reboot it and becomes unusable again.  This means you have to open MM settings-services every time you boot up and reselect DLNA Renderer.  I've sent an email to Chris to find out if there's a way to make the selected service stick.

I got the Audirvana server running on my desktop Mac mini instead of the Sonictransport that is local to my main rig and hardwired.   Mini is MeshWifi on the network.   Then used the Audirvana app on my iPAD to control after setup.  Lots of drop out initially but yesterday it streamed for hours without a drop.    Radio paradise pre configured and other radio stations that stream at redbook or greater are solid.   Have not tried local file storage option yet but Qobuz stream was solid.   Need to set down and AB the SQ.    The  new version of Sonictransport comes with Audirvana preinstalled.  Add used BDP 3 and you got a nice little set up for reasonable $ outlay.

So is your bdp still in dlna render mode after reboot or you never rebooted it yet?

Rebooting it from the interface it stays in renderer mode. Power cycle the box and it reverts to MPD.   I never turn the thing off.
