Is there a manual or set of instruction sheets to go with the new BR-4 remote control?

Not sure on that - Mike would know - mpickett@bryston.com

Here's what I have:

Here's some BR4 Firmware Notes:

---------------------- Reset to factory default --------------------------
Press 'CODE' for 5 seconds, until LED blinks.
Release 'CODE' button.
Press '795', LED will blink 4 times.

;---------------------- Volume Function -----------------------------------
By default, the volume buttons control the programmed pre-amp even when that mode is not selected.

To use the BDA3.14 volume control:
Press 'CODE' for 5 seconds, until LED blinks.
Release 'CODE' button.
Press '717', LED will blink 2 times.

Press 'CODE' for 5 seconds, until LED blinks.
Release 'CODE' button.
Press '750', LED will blink 2 times

To use the pre-amp volume control:
Press 'CODE' for 5 seconds, until LED blinks.
Release 'CODE' button.
Press '751', LED will blink 2 times

Wow!    Thank You!

I bought two of them several months ago for the volume on my BP17C, and to possibly control my BCD -3. I received another one with a B60R for my Grandson's system.

Thanks Again,

George

Good Day:

I would also like to see the instructions and a chart of what the remote is compatible with.
Similar to way BR2 is presented on website.

Thanks

Hi, what could be the problem if the device code for the BDP-3 is not working on my BR-4?
I tried it a hundred times. If I try to program the bdp-3 with code 719 there is no blinking two times, light just goes out instantly. It doesn't accept the code.
Is there a older version of the BR-4 which doesnt "know" the BDP-3 and which I might have? It came along with a demo device I bought ...
Thanks for any help!
Alois

To reset the BR4 to factory defaults, press the CODE button for 5 seconds until the status LED blinks, release the CODE button, then enter 795 on the keypad  The status LED will blink 4 times to let you know it was successful.

To control the BDA3.14, please press the Digital button to set it to the correct mode.

Thank you for your reply, Mr. Tanner.
I tried that, but with no effect. I can progam my BR4 with the codes of the BDA-3 and the BP-26 and it works perfectly. But still not with the BDP-3. No blinking if I enter code 719, bdp3 cannot be controlled.
Happy New Year!

Greetings, Lloyd.
Have you ensured your BDP-3 is set to Device 6?  See instructions I received in 2023 from Adam Tanner following.

Pressing the up arrow and left arrow in quick succession brings up a menu that allows for the following adjustments: Display Brightness: 1-4 Display
Timeout: 10 seconds to never.
IR Address: 1-7 (dont touch this)
Device ID: 6 or 9
If yours is set to 9 use the down arrow to change it to 6.

Just let the screen timeout and then your BR2 or BR4 should turn the power off - be careful as it will turn off the BDP3 and any BDA3 in the room at same time.

Also, when you press 'Digital'+Power on or off does your BDP and BDA turn on or off?

Cheers,
Barry

Hi Barry, thank you for your reply. It's nice to see that there is always one more thing one can try.

I have found the menu. But it turns out that the adjustments of 'Device ID' are not '6' or '9'. Strangely I can chose between '=' and '2'. Maybe I have a different system version?

Anyway, I tried both options. None of them changed the behaviour of the remote control. Still not able to program it with code 719, still not working with the bdp-3.

When I press 'digital' and 'power' the BDA-3 reacts normal and turns on or off. The bdp-3 doesn't react in any way.

Best, Alois

Hello, again, Alois (sorry about my wrong name guess).
Have you checked your system firmware value?  Are you connected to the internet (either Ethernet or WiFi)?
I checked the manual and = or 2 donˋt appear to be valid Devce Setting options.  Do you have the BDP-3 Manual?  If not, let me know and Iˋll get you a link to one.

BTW, Alois, make sure the ÌR Addressˋ is set at 1 and not adjusted in the future.

Hi Barry,
I checked the manual. You are right, nothing mentioned about = and 2 there. The firmware was already up to date but I re-updated anyway, with no effect.
I guess it can be presumed that both phenomenons - the remote not working and the unusual menu options - are connected. I looked into the options of the web interface if I can find anything that could change the bdp-3-settings, but no success either.
I have one option left: Reset to factory settings and update again. But before I do that I will try contact the local Bryston distrubtor (from whom I bought the device which was used as a demo). Maybe they have an idea whats going on. They said they used it with a remote.
Thank you,
Alois
