Hi,
I recently joined. Not sure this is the correct place to post my query. I collected a s/h pair of these speakers today. They are on some temporary wooden stands cobbled together. I am wondering if they will sound better with heavy solid stands like the Target R range or some light frame types like the 'Something Solid XF'.
First impressions with my Leak Stereo 20 amp are that they sound very very good. I don't know what they will sound like with my Border Patrol SE300B but I'm very optimistic.

I tend to look for the most solid and heavy stands I can source like Sound Anchor or similar built stands.  Target HR or MR series is more my idea of something solid and stable.  I have never heard the de Capo's but their owners are fiercely loyal.

If you can get a pair of older Osiris stands, they are as solid as they come.  Two large cylindrical steel pipes welded together with large platform stands. In terms of speaker stands, I saw two philosophical camps, one extremely overbuilt ones OR thin rectangular ones you see with older Epos or even some recent Harbeth oriented stands, the smaller ones. Another set of stands I find intriguing as these wood stands that absorb sound made for JM Reynaud speakers.  I wonder how those work.

Ideal (and inexpensive) stand:

Find a metal worker to weld a pipe (diameter to taste) to two steel plates per speaker.  Adjust overall height so tweeter is at listening ear height.  Make bottom plate heavy and big to avoid tip overs from kids/pets.  Provide hole in center of top plate.  Add spikes (can be almost anything) if over a concrete floor slab.  Paint and fill the pipe with play sand.  Add BlueTack (FunTack is cheaper at Walmart) between speakers and top plate.  Add 'cable management' if desired.

Reasonable priced. Columns can be filled with sand for greater dampening.

In the end I managed after some time to buy a pair of used Something Solid XF stands made here in the UK.
I think they suit the speakers very well and they have WAF. We can have plant pots in the middle of the frames!
