Yesterday, Saturday, 238V -> bad sound in my two systems.

Sunday, 234V -> very good sound in my second system.

Alternative to the expensive Mundorf MGO capacitors. But are screw terminal.

This balanced *floating* isolation transformer together with the LT3045s in series is actually the biggest reason why I want to build my LPSUs.

As you can see on the picture there is a switch on the balanced isolation transformer where I can choose to *float* or *ground*. No contest in my setup. *Floating* sounds by far the best.


Both are custom made by Aleksandar (ATL Hi-Fi).

Imagine a new PCB with 2+2 Chemi-Con GPD capacitors... 1+1 en parallel -> 9 mOhms, and only EUR 7.5.

Or the current PCB and a little bit of skill.

And a DCBx4 with 4+4 Chemi-Con GPD caps.

Problem to compare, especially the ripple current: Chemi-con measures are at 100 kHz and Mundorf at 100 Hz

I read thru at least half of the postings but not all. Am very interested in the ATL DCB.
Seems you like the single DCB with your Mundorf MLGO 47000uF 25V upgrade best, as an improvement over the stock EPCOS from ATL.
And that the stock ATL DCB was quite decent.
Would you say that it's good enough to use just 1 DCB because the improvement is low relative to the doubling or quadrupling of costs to do DCBx2 or DCBx4.
My AC mains is not bad, don't have noticeable transformer hum.
I'm thinking to setup a DCB for my Parasound JC1 monoblocks amps, which use a 1,700VA transformer each. So maybe I should concentrate on getting enough current capacity rather than using DCBs in series, right?

Sorry I am late.

Hi Maty,

I finally finished my first DIY project. It uses Sjostrom Audio's DCT03 blocker and 3 Fo-Felix EMI filters.
I tried it out on an old receiver and it's working perfectly. I only wish I had some test equipment to make some measurements.

Anyway, I thought I'd upload some photos to show you, and maybe get some feedback.
I decided to only hook-up the blocker to the 17 amp coil that goes to the power amp outlet.

Do you think that's the best way to do it, or should I hook-up the blocker to all the outlets?  (One 17 amp coil, and two 3 amp coils for sources).

The paint job will end up being black lacquer on the front, black hammered paint on the sides and silver metallic on the rear. The blue was an experiment.

Trial and error like me.

Go adding to the chain. When you notice loss of quality in the sound instead of improving, it is that the attenuation is excessive and reduces the dynamics.

Now I have only the DC Blocker x4 ME with the Marantz because I have less noise in the grid. And DCB (Mundorf) + DCB + DCBx2 with the Yamaha.

And I added mass to my cheap tweaked KEF Q100 coaxial speakers. With ALL the tweaks they sound much better than new. KEF skimmed on the furniture, with thin DM walls. Now, with less ressonances, better and more clear sound.

And I have optimized more my Win10 Pro 64 bits 1709 to play multimedia -> better sound again. They tell me and I do not believe it!

In my Linux I have not been able to improve both the sound  :(

It is fundamental to optimize the OS and you do not have to spend a penny!
