Any experience with a Tripp-Lite Isoblok?
« on: 9 Sep 2020, 07:54 pm »
My main system has been blessed by what seems to be unusually clean power from the wall, but I haven't had such luck at my computer. 99% of my computer listening is done through headphones (Topping D10 > JDS Atom > Sennheiser 58X) but I'm going to add some powered monitors just for the sake of convenience, and my experience with them so far (with zero power conditioning) has been a very high noise floor.

I'd like to keep my spending to an absolute minimum, since this is a secondary setup within a secondary setup. Anyone had success killing the dirty line noise that makes its way into super cheapo plate amps using a Tripp-Lite Isoblok (the 2-outlet Isobar that sits flush with the wall)?

Don't have direct experience with that model but have Isobar 4 and 6 outlet strips (e.g. https://www.tripplite.com/isobar-4-outlet-surge-protector-6-ft-cord-3300-joules-diagnostic-leds~ISOBAR4ULTRA).  I have one in the office and one in a secondary system (use an old Torus RM-20 in the main system).  Also have a two outlet one of these - https://www.brickwall.com/pages/the-worlds-best-surge-protectors  in a secondary system (plugged my new UHD TV into it).  There's also other devices one can use to use to clean power.  These are just a couple of the examples and I'm sure there are lots more (Yes I use them in various rooms) -

I have others as well and make homemade versions of things as well.  As you noted, for a secondary system, one doesn't necessarily want to break the bank.  Some of the things I have in secondary systems as I've found more success with other things in the main system and rotated them there.

Have used them for years for surge protection and they have worked really well
