Kit Watkins and Coco Rousell - In Time

This album from 1985 was before Kit Watkins (an incredible keyboard player!) went too far toward New Age for my liking. 'In Time' is much more of a prog release, albeit a bit lighter than the stuff he did with Happy the Man. Some of it is trending toward the bland, but the good stuff is quite enjoyable.

George Rochberg - String Quratet No 3 (1972)

I'm a sucker for 1960's and 1970's avant-garde chamber works, this one is world class.  Energetic and tonal, this is somewhat more accessible than his earlier works. Couple that with the usual high quality recording from Nonesuch, makes for a wonderful listen.

Hit Radioactive Records in Fort Lauderdale this morn on way to airport to come home, grabbed about 18 things. The 2 most interesting, a mint 6 eye Sinatra "Put Your Dreams Away", and "Let It Be" - The Beatles
Red Apple, In the deadwax it has Phil and Ronnie, S f, and the IAM (International Association of Machinists union) triangle (indicating that an LP was pressed @ Capitol's Scranton, Pennsylvania plant). Also, stamped in cursive is Bell Sound. Last, it's from the limited, 2nd pressing of the album.

I'll have to clean it tomorrow as too tired now, but it looks NM.

New pickups from the local Goodwill thrift store. Vinyl looks in good shape.

Hit Radioactive Records in Fort Lauderdale yesterday;

Some Steely Dan to replace my first copies which I bought in the '70's

Some jazz, White Rabbit a NM copy to replace my VG- version, and who can have enough Take Five?

Some guitar wizardry

Some guys from the UK, why is Pete's solo work so expensive?

And the 2 finds, Mint 6 eye and a NM to M US Let It Be, could be Mint once cleaned

Record Store Day release. On first listen this is one messy, messy rambling opus.

The Connells, Darker Days
First album, would never have bought it except Joe Quietglow mentioned one of their albums in an earlier post.
The owner had a copy of Joe's album behind the register and wouldn't sell it!

Not bad so far, I have lots of Strawbs, so I thought "why not?"
(I mean, what would Pumpkin do???)
Actually, the fidelity on this disk is great.

I got this because I know it's supposed to be good and good for me. Relaxing.
But I am not yet a major fan...

I had some great finds last weekend!

Sealed copy of the Art Ensemble of Chicago - Full Force.

One of their more 'accessible' albums. The recording quality is so good on this.

Sealed copy of Stravinsky conducts Stravinsky - The Soldiers Tale

And last but not least, Prokoviev - Excerpts From Romeo and Juliet. Direct to disc on Sheffield Labs.

Pretty close to mint. Not my favorite piece by Prokofiev, but the recording is so good!
