Hi Glen,

Wonderful!  You have it running now!  Thank you for your toast, which I will naturally pass to JohnR after removing a large crescent-shaped bite....

The pot is on it's way later tomorrow Glen;  I've had them a couple of days now.

They sound wonderful, better than the ALPS I feel.....

Cheers,

Hugh

hello all,

with a bit of luck i should have my aksa 100 up and running by friday or saturday, i'm really interested to hear how this amp sounds.

i did take me a while to get all the parts i needed as i'm not experienced with electronics, my mentor has done most of the work but i've learnt a couple of things.

i haven't had any music for a month as my amplifier is in for repair, if the aksa is as good as my normal amp i'll be selling the n.e.w. fairly quickly if i can get a reasonablle price for it.

regards

rod

it's in your 'profile' (top right corner of this page for me) just upload a pic that is under or exactly 120 pixels * 120 pixels... simple!

Hugh,

Good Stereo Pots are hard to come by in Aus & NZ

What is the Pot?
Are you selling them as an item?

Thanks, Verk.

Hi Verk,

Yes, you are right;  good ones are unobtainium.

I am considering it;  but source of supply remains a problem, and my kitset customers must come first.

How many do you need?

Cheers,

Hugh

Thanks for the quick reply Hugh.

Just the one pot for now.  I'm currently playing with LM3875 chips and have found a nice tight layout.  With efficent speakers it leaves my Plinius integrated in the dust.  Don't tell Pete Thompson ;-)

I'm working on a small aluminium/wood case and have been thinking about using 2 single gang cermit pots.  A PITA to set the volume though.  Needs some kind of mechanical linkage between the shafts like the old radio's tuning gang.(cord around pullies with a spring for tension sort of thing)  Stereo pot seems like a hell of a lot less work.
