Toni, P-Man,
My 18 y/o nephew is just getting into classic rock. Could you recommend the top 3 Deep Purple albums as gift ideas. I know nada about them. In my head I think I have them confused with the Moody Blues. :duh:

Cheers, Lester

My first recommendation is their 3rd self-titled album from 1969:

Deep Purple

My 2nd choice from 1970 is:

Deep Purple in Rock

My 3rd choice would be Machine Head only for "Smoke on the Water".

PS: Original UK pressings could be a little bit expensive ...  :)

If you like Guided by Voices/Robert Pollard here is another Pollard project worth checking out.
