No sweat P-man, hope you had a great day. Quiet one here. Watched some animated films, spun some jazz & read. Limited time on the computer, just checked in from time to time.

I just picked up the SACD of On The Threshold of A Dream. Had to dig out, hook up, my old Pio Elite DVD player so I can play it. Will be interested to hear the difference to the two prior versions (original release, & remaster). I've got Days of thru 7th Sojo, minus Every Good Boy on vinyl, & CD. Had a college roommate who played that one in particular to death, so am slow to fill in that gap.

Tubes warming up, so we'll see what hits the deck today. Some rock, some jazz, and maybe some Electronic. So does Tangerine Dream qualify as R&R ?

Time for another cup of java. Have a good day. 31 here this AM, a tad nippy.

(Sure, Arthur, Tangerine Dream qualifies as RnR, it all gets stirred in the the same pot.)

Tubes are already warm and I think a slow start to the day is in order with a few servings of this.

Jack Nitzsche: St. Giles Cripplegate Reprise, '72

I'm going to guess that you have this somewhere in the "Black Hole" Bill, and haven't pulled it out in a while. I hadn't listened to it in years, much less read the sleeve notes, or checked it out on-line. While I may have known the more direct 'rock' connection at one time, it was long forgotten until I read the Azon review notes below;

While Neil Young's classic 'Expecting to Fly' arguably resulted from arranger Jack Nitzsche's classical experimentations on his 'Chopin '66' album, Nitszche's album of his own classical compositions, 1972's 'St. Giles Cripplegate', was undoubtedly the product of Nitzsche's work with Young on his smash 'Harvest' album, as two of its tracks, 'A Man Needs a Maid' and 'There's a World', utilized the services of the London Symphony Orchestra. Nitzsche then turned around and used the LSO for his 'St. Giles Cripplegate' album, which Nitzsche recorded in the St. Giles Cripplegate church ("for the natural echo delay of six seconds," said Nitzsche in a later interview) with over 100 musicians. Of course, Reprise had no idea how to market this modern classical album, and it died commercially. But for the purest distillation of the man's vision and boundary-breaking creative spirit, start here.
