First time? How did this album elude you? Did "Smoke" scare you off with all the radio play? That's one of the main causes for me to dis-own a group/album.

Do you have "In Rock", Fireball" & "Made in Japan"?   "You need" :rules:

I had "Machine Head" on 8 track when it came out in my '70 Dodge Dart "Swinger".

CB,

I'm not sure how it alluded me. I had Shades of Deep Purple, Book of Taliesvn and the album with the Royal Philharmonic. I was in law school then and had a limited music budget which went to the Moody Blues, It's a Beautiful Day, Poco and groups like those. I probably thought they were too "heavy" for me at the time although I did like Smoke. I might have put them in the same category as Black Sabbath who I have never liked and cannot stand to listen to. Looks like I'm going to be on a Deep Purple hunt. I don't want to violate the rules.

P-man,

Do you have a particular blues/rock LP that stands out above others that you really like?
I'm thinking something along the lines of Trower, Jonny Lang, Warren Haynes ect.

Guess I'm  :fishing: for LP's to look for this weekend when I hit my used record the store.

Guess I'm  :fishing: for LP's to look for this weekend when I hit my used record the store.

Most of what I've listed is 60's and 70's albums as that's mostly all I listen to.

Robin Trower / Bridge Of Sighs
Savoy Brown / Street Corner Talking
Canned Heat / Future Blues
Roy Buchanan /  Second
Cream / Disraeli Gears
Fleetwood Mac / Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac
John Mayall / The Blues Alone
Johnny Winter / The Progressive Blues experiment (Cactus Bob has it pictured at the top of the page)      Any of his 3 albums on the Alligator label from the 80's
Ten Years After / A Space In Time
Cactus / Self Titled

Something more modern I  like is ''Kenny Wayne Shepherd / Live On''  (don't know if it's on vinyl or not.. I have it on CD)

Here's one I've never be able to find the vinyl of, but it's a real winner  Jimmy Dawkins / Fast Fingers

Another I like by Savoy Brown was their 1st called ''The Savoy Brown Blues Band / Shake Down" (it will be a tough one to find on LP)

Hell Steve we could do this all night.
Hope it helps.................P-man

Please others chime in with your suggestions
