Too much jazz in the Flock for the V_L......

Yep, the closest I get to jazz is Chicago Transit Authority/Chicago (horns), Steely Dan (horns) and Pink Floyd and Bruce Springsteen (sax). If you want to get rid of me, put on a female jazz singer and I'll be out of the room in a flash.

Bob at 4000 Holes loaned me a Flock album about a year ago so I could see if I would like them. I returned the album to him before I finished listening to the first side. Not for me.

Did you hear the first Flock lp? It could change your mind. It's cross between BS&T and Chicago with Less pop.

I picked this next one up yesterday. Haven't owned it since the 70's.

CB,

The flock album I tried to listen to was the one you just played. Way too jazzy for me.

A lot of Flock going on around here.  Either of you have Dinosaur Swamps ? As with much I used to, but do have a dbl LP with the 1st & DS, may just have to break it out in a bit.  :thumb:

Me too with the female jazz singers. Especially the new breed. But, jazz rules musically and don't mean The Dan lol.  :icon_lol:

What CB, no love for Sarah Vaughn, Keely Smith, and their contemporaries ?

Ok, for a change of pace (P-man said English Folk-Rock was acceptable)

Ella, Sarah & Billy I like. Not the smooth female jazz singers of today. Their names elude me at this moment.

By Ella I assume you mean Ella Fitzgerald. She is much better than gawd awful Krall and Barber (I'd rather listen to fingernails on a blackboard than those two), but I wouldn't buy or listen to her. I've never heard of Sarah or Keely.

Steeleye Span:  Storm Force Ten
Chrysalis     '77

Which reminds me P-man, Laura haven't seen anything from Davey in ages. I seem to remember a comment some time back about his absence, hope he's OK and doing well. Heard anything ?

Laura I'd like to think I have an idea of what you like in music. I'm doubtful that you'd enjoy this.
I'm posting this here just to show you the cover.  :o

I think you do have a pretty good idea and by the look of the cover I don't think I would like it. The female vocals I like are Chrissie Hynde, Stevie Nicks, Grace Slick, Neko Case, Christine McVie, Janis, Jennifer Warnes, and similar.
