Nice choice CB. I remember getting that awful call telling me the sad news like it was yesterday.

Certainly a tragic death. Life is not supposed to end that way. Love the Beatles; love Lennon-McCartney songs; loved John's voice singing Beatles songs, but never cared for John's solo work and especially anything with Ono involved.

Hi Laura, Very tragic. I don't care for all of his solo stuff, but there are a lot great songs. I'm not a fan of Paul's solo lp's, too much pop for my tastes although there are some good songs by him also. I liked Lennon's songwriting style much better. He had much more vision than Paul could ever have.

CB,

our tastes are a little different, which is OK. I like Paul's solo stuff, especially the Wings era because I like pop and power pop. I hated the McCartney album when he played some old standards, the one with Diana Krall; I heard about 4 bars of the first song and knew it was not for me. I really like NEW--back to McCartney pop. From your posts I know we have a lot of overlap in our music collections.

I hope it is warmer there. We are expecting -4 tonight.

That's the greatest thing about music. That would be being parallel with each other, but never the same. That a good thing. My love for rock, jazz and other types of music runs deep.

It was a very nice day here. I put up the Christmas lights outside today. No need for a jacket, about 60 degrees in the sun. I love it here. I know what winter is all about (45 years in Chi-Town). Brrrr!

Have a great one, Bob  :thumb:

Eagles ‎– Hotel California
Label: Asylum Records ‎– 6E-103
Format: Vinyl, LP, Stereo, Gatefold
Country: US
Released: 1976

First snow of the year, so seems logical to listen to an album festooned with palm trees about California.
