There's nothing quite like spending the day down in the basement banging out two pounds of white sludge from the inside of the drain pipes to make a man feel eager to go back to work on Monday to escape!
The smell of old drain water, you just can't beat it.
I gather that's a combination of soap and mineral deposits?
I just did that a few years ago, too.

Ah yes, the Nectar of the Gods
I used to use Bio-Sure powder to keep the pipes and septic tank and leach field clean. It worked pretty good. It's a bacteria powder that eats it all up. Yum.

I use to do that on date night!

Good to see you are feeling up to tackling the 'Joys of White Sludge' Steve. Clean pipes are happy pipes. :D

I can get worse: liquid cooking grease thrown down the sink....coagulates just far enough down to be a big mess.
:nono:

That's what my proctologist said....

Remind me never to visit your proctologist!

Only 2 pounds? Count yourself lucky:
'Monster' fatberg found blocking east London sewer

To put the size and heft of the clog in perspective: it’s longer than two American football fields and as heavy as a blue whale.
And yes, it's as ugly as it sounds.

Give my wife time, she'll show those damned Brits how to make a Fatburg!
That's exactly what it was, too: cooking grease.
It looked like someone dropped two dozen bars of Ivory soap down the drain and then they got broken up when I dislodged them but nope, that's not soap, that's cooking grease.
There's no changing her behavior so I guess I'll have to look into grease traps like they would use in a commercial kitchen.

Just went through the same thing.
Try some of this:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CVSQHQX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Works well...

I will try that, thanks!
One glug down the drain, one water pistol squirt of it at the cook.
