Biwire for ST's
« on: 23 Apr 2008, 09:39 pm »
Anyone know if the ST's have a biwire option, i.e. that you can order biwirable terminals?  And would it make a difference?

Thanks.

Jim will add bi-wire if you want it. I did it and the price was very fair. From what I gather, most people think bi-wiring does nothing to improve sound but in some systems and to some ears, bi-amping can. The reason I opted for the option was because my amp has a rare feature where there are separate voltage-source and current-source outputs for the front channels. The theory is that you can have the best of both worlds, by bi-amping the voltage source to the woofers and current-source to the tweeters (for more of a tube-amp sound). Does it work? It sounds great, but I haven't tried it any other way. Others like bi-wiring because they think it looks good.

So a bi-amping option is available?  Any idea what the impedance becomes per terminal?
