One of the great benefits of being a dealer for a hobby is lots of great people come to your house and want to play with your system.

But another is they bring their favorite music.

A while back a fellow brought over a cut by YELLO.  Kinda Leon Redbone type stuff but definately different.

While in TOWER the other day I picked up a copy of one of YELLO's CDs called "Essential".

Apparantly this is somewhat of a "best of" and Man, is it cool.

Now it may not be for everybody but this is some wild sonic hijinks :o

I'm sure most of you have heard the first cut, "OH YEAH" since it was used in the movie, Ferris Beulers Day Off and is one of those tunes that when you hear it you remember it.

I was wondering if anyone was familiar with this performer, and had any other suggestions :D

Or comments

Seems like there's always room for Yello (I couldn't resist) :o  :o

Yello has some pretty good demo stuf on their CD's.  I have 3 of them:

Flag: "Tied UP" and "The Race" are good

Zebra: "How How"

Pocket Universe: the whole thing, esp. "More" and "Resistor"

You better have a system that can handle alot of dynamic range and have the power these CD's will demand.

Isn't Yello sorta show-off-your-stereo kinda music???

I had a vinyl copy of "Oh Yeah" that's fun to play for a while, but after awhile I got the urge for some more natural-sounding music.  Reminds me in a way of the Sheffield Labs' Thelma Houston that was always used as a demo LP when I was younger--really got the woofers pumping.

Definately not my normal stuff, but this greatest hits CD "essentials" has some great cuts.

Kinda Leon Redbone meets techno/disco via audiophile recording system.

Sports Bar?

John, if you're viewing the gallery page containing the image, at the bottom under the pic is the URL you need to paste between the img tags. This goes directly to the image which is what is needed to embed pictures in posts.

While she was often "bad", I think the marks are "rug burns"
