One thing to keep in mind while you're looking at all the choices, is that pro-style powered monitors have an amplifier in each speaker and will require an AC power connection and a mono line-out source connection (Left or Right) to each speaker vs. the consumer style (like the Audioengine) that has a stereo amp in one speaker and only needs an AC power connection and a stereo line-out source connection to one speaker and a speaker cable connection from that speaker to the other speaker.

partsxpress, buy 2 sets of Dayton Audio for around $30 a set, get yourself a nice decent cheap amp where you can hook up your ipod or an audio player and your good to go~  I have 2 Dayton Audio speakers in my garage, hooked up in 4 different corners with a Harmon Kardon Amp and let me tell you that I am ROCKING!!!! :thumb:
