I use a Hegel HD2 dac, B&W CM8 speakers and a Dennis Had EL84 amp at 5wpc. On the wait list for a 6200 from someone. What cheap $400 or less solid state amps would maybe hold me over and also give me a taste of decent solid state.
I had Marantz PM6004 as my first amp for the B&W and hated it!!!! I already have 2 tube amps so I'm good with those- just want something to play with to give me more punch and bass. My other tube amp is a PP triode strapped EL34 amp which is 16wpc- so still not that kick of SS.
