  • Strange things are afoot at the Circle K
Obviously Danny Carey of Tool is on the list. Blake Richardson of Between The Buried And Me, Matt Garstka of Animals As Leaders and Clay Aeschliman of Polyphia are my other favorites.

Another great drummer I enjoy is Rob Turner formerly of GoGo Penguin, but they're modern jazz not rock sound. But still, excellent drumming.

Gavin Harrison. Now with Pineapple Thief, previously with Porcupine Tree, and King Crimson. Had the pleasure to see him last year.

Good question
Pert was the best, I had a chance to see him on Rush's last tour. Absolutely stellar.

Growing up in the 80s, prior to all his pop stuff, I never knew what a great drummer Phil Collins was until later in life. I don't known if he would be considered more Fusion or Progressive (somewhere in between) from his work in the 70s and early 80s, i would add him to the list as well. The rest that come to mind are probably more considered Jazz Fusion like Lenny White, Cobham, Gadd etc etc.

  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.
