Trip down memory lane
« on: 20 Feb 2003, 12:12 am »
Just spent some time listening to Neil Young over an early 70's Marantz 2245 reciever and an early 80's pair of Klipsch Heresy loudspeakers.  While it doesn't do all of the "audiophile approved" things my ARC tubes and ACI Jaguar speakers do...it was still a real treat.  Smooth, warm sound and as long as listening levels were reasonable...good midrange tonality.  The dynamic range of these little horn speakers can be downright frightening.

Now to find a decent older CD player to go along with this stuff.

mmmmm, nice classic pair of quality pieces of vintage gear.

about the cdp, it really dosn't matter, as most first and second generations of cdp were pretty bad, I would take the time in finding a nice turn table and cart. as I seem to enjoy my tt more then cdp.

nice system though, it's always nice to be able to retreat back to some oldie but goodies
