Cornet Resistors?
« on: 17 Sep 2003, 10:10 pm »
Before I begin building this phono-amp, which I can't wait to do, I was wondering which resistors would be most beneficial for upgrades. I was thinking of using some Riken Ohms, but it would be really costly to use them throughout! Thanks for any help.

You can see a couple of different versions on the Cornet on this thread

I built mine using Riken-Ohms and yes, they are not cheap.

I have used them before and I really like the sound of them.

To me they were worth the premium.

I have used Riken Ohm in the line stage of the AKSA GK-1 pre amp, and also in the AKSA 55 power amp. They are lovely.
I am under the impression that carbon film (Riken) are noisy at very low levels and are not suitable for a phono stage. I bought Vishay Dales (metal film) for the phono section of the GK-1.
Any comments?
