SP1.7/SP2 DTS "movie" vs "music" mode
« on: 23 Mar 2009, 09:53 pm »
Just wondering if anyone (James?) can elaborate more on what the difference are in these two DTS modes.  The manual states that each mode optimizes the bass management settings for the source material.

On my SP1.7, I tried toggling between the two modes while playing a couple of concert DVDs in DTS.  Frankly, I can't discern a difference at all between the two modes.  Maybe if I knew how each mode affects the sound, I might be able to notice it.

I'm running a complete 5.1 setup with my SP1.7.

Thanks.

Levi

The bass curve is different. ;)  I just know it. :)  Someone can probably elaborate between the two settings technically.

Yeah, I'd like to know the difference too.

What was the concept behind it?
Is it Bryston specific or a standard pre-set DTS mode?

Thanks

As far as I know the DTS Movie mode allows for up to another 10dB of .1 channel bass output.
