Alert: Device WDMYCLOUD appears to be offline
« on: 16 May 2019, 11:48 pm »
it is Offline, sadly.
Already done every troubleshooting I could think of (NAS is OK., router and cables checked, NAS Setup again, reset database, rebooting etc. ) but music files on Public\Shared Music don't show up in the screen, nor do they play. Nor does either the NAS device or subfolder show up in the Settings - Disk Information tab. I had updated firmware recently before I noticed, but does not mean this wouldn't be happening since long before.
What's next ?

Fernando.

That message refers to a NAS, not a USB drive you should check NAS setup rather then Disk Information.

Hi Chris,

Yes, understood as you're telling, I didn't pose the problem clearly enough.

I had already checked NAS setup following Manic Moose manual, page 21 - to my understanding it shows as it should. I already toggled Edit, Update, Remove and Add Share with no success. That was the first thing I did and I might have set something wrong but can't realize ...

It shows as below.

Did you click the radio button to select it?

Chris, could it be that I typed Public\Shared Folder (single slash) instead of Public\\Shared Folder (double slash) ? - Remove, Add Share [Public\\Shared Folder] , then Update ... and it updated :) - at Home screen, Public_Shared_Music_on_WDMYCLOUD is listed together with other local attached USB drives, and music files on that folder are showing on Artist View, and load when I click on them, and they may be playing but I hadn't yet turned On the rest of the audio chain ... the Alert message does not show up now. I might have solved this "issue" :) - and I'm learning to read better than on last Wednesday, so it seems.

Could it be so ?

sometimes I did, sometimes I did not . Next tab behave different if turned On or Off., but it shows Off when back to NAS settings.

Chris, while at Settings, I checked MPD version which showed version 0.17.6

I was pretty sure it was 0.19.21 (never changed it myself, I swear.), and can't guess how or why did it revert to 0.17.6

Since the 'Please Note' note, may I switch to 0.19.21 in the drop-down menu ?

The drop down menu does not match MDP Version Info, below.

It shows as follows:
