Introductions, please
« on: 16 Mar 2024, 04:20 pm »
Have been meaning to join AudioCircle for some time ... finally did.

I am a longtime audiophile. Decades ago it was all big 2-channel gear: turntables, tube amps/preamps, floorstanders, and so on. These days it's all desktop audio (in a nearfield configuration) in a home office, with energy/$$ split between speakers+sub and headphones.

The reason for all this remains what it was on day-1: a deep love of music. Without that, audio would mean very little.

I look forward to meeting new people and learning new things here...

Audio has changed, now it's all about streaming and active monitors.  My setup uses just 3 cords (all power cords).  The streamer/DAC/room EQ uses wireless connection to the speakers.  I control it all from my laptop.

I lack the courage, knowledge (and frankly, the desktop space & funds) to investigate streaming. Honestly, it's one of those areas of modern day audio that intimidate me to no end...

So I commend you for figuring it out!

Welcome!
