Does anyone have experience with this DAC?

It is worth $500?

I run an Emotiva XMC-1, and it sounds fantastic.

I want to see what else is out there.

Please let me know your thoughts on this DAC.

I've owned this DAC for over a year and it is outstanding. Here is the path of my system:
Windows 11 / JRiver or Foobar / USB / SMSL SU-9 DAC / AVA Vision SET 120 power amplifier / Elac Carina speakers
The remote is nice with volume control. I sold my Parasound Halo 5 preamp. NOTE: to play SACD/DSD files without converting them, use the XMOS ASIO Drive from the manufacturer's website. They will show up on this DAC's display as DSD.
There are better units out there, but they will likely cost a lot more money.
