We now offer our VDC•MKII linear regulated DC power supplies in 4 different output voltages (5, 7, 9, & 12V).
These can be used to replace noisy switching supplies that come with many audio products.
Contact us with any compatibility questions.

Hey Dusty!
Can you tell us more about the topology? Type of regulator, trans etc and cost?
-
Transformers are custom 35VA EI type for low AC coupling.
LDO Linear Tech circuit with loop filter for tight regulation and low ripple.
Over 20,000uF of filter capacitance, polypropylene bypass caps, Schottky rectifier diodes, AC line filtering, and 120~240V input voltage selection. All models come with cables, 5 year warranty, and UPS shipping in the continental US $329
Full specifications for each model should be up on our website late next week.

Awesome, thanks! Are they quiet mechanically with the EI? I'm really sensitive to that...
-
yes, that is partly why we have them custom made.
off-the-shelf types aren't quiet enough for us audio guys :wink:

Sweet! Please update this thread when you get them on your site. :thumb:

Do you have anything that would work with the Aries Mini?

Dusty, that would require 16Vdc ideally. Can't go below 14Vdc.

Sorry, no 16V model

We are finishing up the matching AC•15 MKII Upgrade Power Supply for our PEQ•MKII Phono Preamp.
It uses a 35VA encapsulated toroid transformer, has AC line filtering, 120~240V input selection, dual 15VAC outputs with dual common-mode choke output filtering.
This can als be used to power PLC•1 for 120~240V operation but offers no sonic benefits.
Being that PLC•1 is a purely passive signal path, the power supply is only used for control circuits.
Looks are the same as VDC but no LED and uses a 7 pin DIN connector for output. Hope to ship around May 1st.
Cost will be $299

What's the difference between MKI and MKII supplies?

Max current at various voltages? And at those various voltages: Ripple/noise at 10Hz to 10khz? PSRR at 100hz? Which LDO reg?
Thanks,
Anand.

Current ratings are listed below
5V=2.5A
7V=2.0A
9V=1.6A
12V=1.0A
full specifications for all models will be on the website soon

What's the difference between MKI and MKII supplies?
Pretty much everything....
MKII uses 35VA transformer vs 25VA
More capacitance
Better diodes
Tighter regulation
User selectable input voltage
Schurter IEC socket with power switch
Nicer chassis

Still haven't finished the website update but here is a graph of VDC•5 MKII noise from 10Hz~20kHz.
Brown line is the Audio Precision measurement threshold.
Red line is the VDC with only AP input as a load.
Violet line is at full load just before regulator drop out.

We're working on an all new site to launch next month.
The new site will have more information and many new features.. stay tuned!

I’m very pleased with my VDC 7, feeding a MicroRendu. Question.....would it benefit from upgrading the stock IEC cord that came with it?

The answer to that is in the ears of the beholder...

Any chance of any higher current version at some point? Say 2A @ 12Vdc
-
sorry, no plans for a higher current 12V model at this time.
