Stranded copper by any decent manf.  if you keep them short not much difference should be heard.  It would be prudent to use the same wire of the speaker cable used.

I just replaced the metal jumpers on my 1.7s with a cardas audio jumper, and the speakers became clearer.  I am hearing things that I never noticed before.  I can hear tape hiss in the right channel of "stairway to heaven" that I did not notice before.  Now I am wondering if I should get Mye Stands for them?  Do they make a big improvement?

I`ll let you know in a few weeks if they do. i just bought one for my DWM woofer and on a short listen , it does sound better than the stock oval wooden plate that magnepan DWM ships with. i`ll play with it more today.

I just use heavy copper wire bent into shape on my 1.7 available for $.69 a foot at hardware store

In the next few weeks I'll  try three different types of jumpers in my new Magnepan .7  solid Cu jumpers- Anticables level 3, a combination of braid and solid core OCC Cu- Audio Sensibility, and a pair from the guy that built my speakers stands- no idea what they are but he swear for them. Will see what happens. Keep you posted

On my 1.6's it was a day/night difference, fuller richer sound,

I use Empirical Audio jumpers; they made a noticeable difference over the stock ones.
