Well.... that's disappointing.

Would anyone with a CD version be perhaps willing to share tracks 1 and 16 in order to compare the original (?) with this new remaster?

I would.  I have both the Super Bit Mapping remaster on redbook, the remaster used for the complete Glenn Gould Original Jacket collection, and the DSD Zenph reperformance disc.

OK, I've done some direct comparisons - I wish I could say the Pristine classical was an improvement, but it's definitely not.  Harder, glassier, more compressed, it simply doesn't sound as good as the DSD based transfer Sony used in their latest round of remasters for this recording.  Not surprising as the stuff I've heard from Pristine has been very hit or miss.  Some, like the Toscanini Brahm's, is worth getting.  Others, like this Gould recording, is not.

Did you notice the processing artifacts - sounds a bit like a snare drum loose in the studio? That was what really bothered me. e.g. just about one minute into track 1.
