Chicago - Chicago Transit Authority (1969) (Tidal MQA)This sounds really nice!Samples
Listened to a few MQA albums from Tidal this afternoon myself, some I thought sounded good, some about the same as teh 1/44,100 stream. The desktop app crapped on me a while ago, not sure wtf Will try that Chicago album at some point too
I haven't had an issue with the Tidal app yet. I'm running it on a clean; dedicated music server with Windows 10 Pro. Not sure how other programs running in the background would affect the app. So far every album I've played sounds much better than the CD's I own, but no title sounds better than the SACD or DVD-Audio discs I own - but they're closer than I expected for a streaming service. The treble sounds a bit bright on some albums compared to what I'm used to. Almost all the albums have remastering dates later than my original CD's, so that could have something to do with it. I've found a lot of recent remasters to be too trebley and bass punchy compared to the originals. What is the bitrate indicated on your DAC? Mine shows 96/24. Some user are getting strange bitrates.
