Hi.

Had to change my network and got the new eero 6e.

All connected and fine but now I can’t find my Salk Streamer. Any suggestions?

Used IP Scanner App to check all devices connected but no luck.

Please help.

 :duh:

Is the Salk Streamer connected by ethernet to the Eero? Or by WiFi?

If WiFi, is the Eero set to allow both 5GHz and 2.4 GHz connections?

When you say "IP Scanner App" is that the Eero app that is used to configure the Eero?

Kind of hunting in the dark without technical details.

Did you restart the Salk Streamer after setting up the Eero?

It’s connected via ethernet.

I restarted.

IP Scanner app is an app that tells you everything connected to your network and shows IP address and other info.

I have green lights on the connections.

I use ROON and the Salk is my core but is not connecting.

Ok, so the Salkstream is connected by Ethernet to a LAN port on the Eero. It looks like the Eero has two Ethernet ports and automatically configures one for WAN and can use the second Ethernet port for LAN (or for a switch, preferably not a managed switch, according to the Eero support site).

The question is whether the Eero is failing to issue an IP address to the Salkstream or whether the Salkstream is not requesting an IP address. Since the Salkstream was working, the suspicion would be the Eero.

1. It might be helpful to download the Eero app, which lets you directly manage the Eero network. I am wondering if the Eero wants you to authorize the Salkstream to receive an IP address (maybe MAC authentication is on by default? Which would be unexpected.) Using the Eero app should let you see what the Eero is doing with IP address allocation.

2. It could also help to try and connect another device to the Ethernet port on the Eero. If it successfully acquires an IP address from the Eero then maybe it is actually something going on with the Salkstream. Was the Salkstream ever set to use a static IP address?

If the Salkstream is connected to the network (e.g., the Eero app shows the Salksteam in the list of connected devices) then the issue could be Roon not seeing the Salkstream Roon server on the network.

I sent my unit to Jim.

He found that the HD went bad.

Always great support from Salk.

Should get it back this week.

Thanks for the help.

The same happened to my Salkstream III (purchased June 2016) back in Nov 2020.  Thanks to Salk’s excellent service it was taken care of promptly.  :thumb:
